Apple CEO Steve Jobs: How To Live Before You Die (Video) "Have the courage to follow your heart"

▲▲▲

Apple CEO Steve Jobs at Stanford University Commencement

Tech legend Steve Jobs presented an inspirational commencement address at Stanford University in 2005. His life story is compelling, beginning as an adopted child and now Co-Founder and CEO of Apple Inc. Apple is now the largest technology company in the USA, and overall second only to Exxon, by market capitalization. He tells three stories from his life: connecting the dots, love, and death.

Dropping out of college, but how he used what he learned to aid in designing the first Macintosh computer
"You can't connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path and that will make all the difference."

Getting fired by the Board of Directors of Apple, the company he started
"The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life. Sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced the only thing that kept me going is that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. The only way to do great work is to love what you do.  If you haven't found it yet, keep looking, and don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. Keep looking, don't settle."

Being diagnosed with terminal cancer: "If you live each day as if it were your last, someday you will most certainly be right"
Since reading this quote, "Since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself, 'If today was the last day of my life, would I want to do what I'm about to do today?'. And whenever the answer has been 'no' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I have ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything, all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure, these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die, is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked, there is no reason not to follow your heart."

Final thoughts on death and life
"Death is the destination we all share, no one has ever escaped it. Death is very likely the single best invention of life. It's life's change agent, it clears out the old to make way for the new. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.  Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Whole Earth Catalog farewell message: stay hungry, stay foolish
"I always wished that for myself: stay hungry, stay foolish. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you."

(Stanford University) Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life's setbacks -- including death itself -- at the university's 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005.

US Air Force Officers Claim UFOs Interfered with Nuclear Weapons (Video) *Robert Hastings at National Press Club*

US Air Force Officers Claim UFOs Disarmed Nuclear Weapons

Have UFOs Tampered with Nuclear Weapons?

Robert Hastings, a UFO researcher, held a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. on September 27 to introduce US Air Force officers who claim ongoing UFO incursions at nuclear weapons sites. "While most of the incidents apparently involved mere surveillance, in a few cases, a significant number of nuclear missiles suddenly and simultaneously malfunctioned, just as USAF security policemen reported seeing disc-shaped craft hovering nearby," says Robert Hastings, author of "UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites."

Hastings states that over the last 37 years he has located and interviewed more than 100 military personnel who have reported UFO incidents at nuclear missile sites, nuclear weapons storage areas, and nuclear weapons test sites. Hastings concludes, "Regarding the missile shutdown incidents, it is my opinion, their (military personnel) opinion, is that whoever are aboard these craft are sending a signal to both Washington and Moscow, among others, that we are playing with fire. That the possession and threatened use of nuclear weapons potentially threatens the human race and the integrity of the planetary environment."

In the video below, these UFO incursions are reported to happen not only in the USA, but also at a Russian nuclear weapons facility in the Ukraine.

(Russia Today: Owned by Aliens? US missile guards claim UFOs target global nukes) They are said to be able to cross galaxies. But people who believe they are out there, want to know why aliens want to visit Earth. A group of former U.S. servicemen is convinced extraterrestrials are interfering with nuclear weapons, as RT's Cedric Moon explains.

Exoplanet Might Support Life: "Goldilocks" planet could be habitable

The newly discovered exoplanet Gliese 581g is in the habitable zone of the star Gliese. Gliese 581g is called a "Goldilocks" planet: the location within the habitable zone is "not too hot, not too cold, but just right" to maintain water and Earth-like life.

An imaginary view from Gliese 581g

(NASA Television) A team of planet hunters led by astronomers at the University of California (UC), Santa Cruz and the Carnegie Institution of Washington has announced the discovery of a planet orbiting a nearby star, Gliese 581, at a distance that places it squarely in the middle of the star's "habitable zone." This would be the most Earth-like exoplanet and the first truly habitable one yet discovered. The research was supported by grants from NASA and the National Science Foundation. "Goldilocks" refers to an exoplanet whose temperatures are "not too cold, not too hot, but just right" to maintain water and support Earth-like life.

(MSNBC Dylan Ratigan Show) Dr. John Grunsfeld discusses the planet named "Goldilocks" whose conditions may be "just right" for support life.

(MSNBC) Astronomers have found a new distant planet nicknamed "Goldilocks" which could be capable of supporting life.Derrick Pitts with the Franklin Institute talks with MSNBC's Tamron Hall about the discovery.

(NPR) Gliese 581g, a planet orbiting the dwarf star Gliese in the constellation Libra, is Earth-like in a few key ways. It's not much bigger than Earth, and its temperature seems mild enough for liquid water. Steven Vogt, of the University of California, Santa Cruz, explains how he found the planet.

Raytheon Unveils 2nd Generation Exoskeleton Robotic Suit (Video) *XOS 2*

Raytheon Exoskeleton XOS 2

Raytheon Unveils 2nd Generation Exoskeleton Robotic Suit

Raytheon now has a second generation exoskeleton, XOS 2, which is a wearable robotics suit, which was introduced  to the public on September 30, 2010. This suit is being developed for military applications. While the XOS 2 can easily be utilized while tethered to a power source, the ultimate goal is a longer-term untethered ability for use in military operations. Raytheon expects deployment of the tethered version for the military in 5 years and an additional 3-5  years beyond for deployment of the non-tethered version. First unmanned drones and next untethered exoskeletons...

“Our goal is to get the suit ready for fielding so that we can take some of the strain off of the soldiers who have to do the heavy lifting day in and day out. That repetitive movement and the exertion can cause injuries. We want to lighten the soldier’s load.” — Rex Jameson, Raytheon Sarcos Test Engineer for XOS 2

“Getting exoskeletons deployed is inevitable. They are desperately needed, and I believe the military looks at them as viable solutions to a number of current issues they are trying to address. With a sustained commitment, they could be in place within five years.” — Dr. Fraser Smith, Raytheon Sarcos Vice President of Operations

"XOS 1 was essentially a proof of concept. With XOS 2, we targeted power consumption and looked for ways to use the hydraulic energy more efficiently. That’s resulted in us being able to add capabilities while significantly reducing power consumption.” — Fraser M. Smith, Raytheon Sarcos Vice President of Operations

“With the popularity of the Iron Man movies, people wonder if I feel like Iron Man when I suit up. I usually tell them that I can’t speak for Tony Stark, but when I’m in the suit I feel like me, only a faster, stronger version of me. Given that his character lives in a California mansion and owns a stable of very fast race cars, that’s probably as close as we’ll come to a shared experience.” — Rex Jameson, Raytheon Sarcos Test Engineer for XOS 2

“That it's becoming real this quickly is kind of remarkable. I can't wait to see XOS 3..” — Clark Gregg, Actor; Agent Coulson from Iron Man and Iron Man 2

(Raytheon) On September 23, 2010, Clark Gregg -- the actor known for his recurring role as Agent Phil Coulson in Marvel Studios' Iron Man movies -- visited the Raytheon Sarcos research lab in Salt Lake City, Utah, for the unveiling of the company's wearable XOS 2 robotics suit.
